MASTER <24m + MED3 Skipper/Captain - full-time POSITION

About the Role:
A great opportunity exists for a Full Time Full Time Skipper (Master <24m) to join our team. We operate a range of vessels of various sizes – Master <24m with MED 3 will be able to operate our entire fleet.
We are ideally looking for a full-time long-term Captain, living in the local South Coast region of the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia. We will however consider part-time/casual skipper role for the right candidate.
Our tours involve taking guests out on the ocean for experiential sightseeing & wildlife tours on the breathtaking Southern Ocean & western Fleurieu Peninsula Coastlines – including whale watching through the winter months. Our range of Coorong National Park tours explore the wetland wilderness of the Lower Lakes & Coorong, rich in birdlife, Cultural Indigenous significance and natural beauty. Our skippers daily office out on the water is one to be revelled.
About you:
Our ideal candidate will have previous tourism, skippering and guiding experience, take pride in their work, have excellent customer service and time management skills, express a can-do attitude and be part of a fun and hard-working team. We are looking for someone with first-class standards across a wide range of marine operations that is well presented and able to lead our crew.
You will have:
Master (<24m NC or/ Master Inland) & Marine Engine Driver (MED) Grade 3 Qualification or/ higher qualification.
Ability to safely plan and navigate vessels in the Southern Ocean, River Murray & Tidal Coorong Estuary.
The ability to provide instruction and training to crew where necessary.
Ability to keep up with all maintenance of our vessels.
Ensure a high standard of presentation is maintained for all vessels and equipment.
Current First Aid Certification.
Ensure all operations comply with AMSA, Fisheries and other regulatory bodies.
Previous experience operating similar vessels in the maritime or/ tourism industry will be highly regarded.
Pride in delivering a high standard of customer service to guests and customers.
A current Working with Children Clearance or/ willing to obtain.

Master (24m) Full-Time Rate = $72,003 - $80,644
As a tourism business, weekend work forms part of the roster. Salary is structured as follows:
- 5 weekdays: $72,003
- 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day: $76,324
- 3 weekdays + 2 weekend days: $80,644
+12% Superannuation
What We’re Looking For:
Strong customer service background.
Tourism or/ guiding experience.
Knowledge of local wildlife, the ocean environment, and the Coorong &/or.
Willingness to learn.
Confident public speaking skills.
Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Experience with reservation systems is beneficial.
