Where do I board the boat for tours?

Our Coorong tours depart from the main Wharf in Goolwa, South Australia. There is plenty of free parking without time restraint here at the wharf. Note: our new Gin Flight Cruise departs from Coorong Quays, Hindmarsh Island.

  • No, if guided walks are included in the tour they are not compulsory, you can remain on-board if you wish. You can do as much or as little of the guided walks as you feel comfortable.

  • Our ‘Spirit of the Coorong’ & ‘Spirit of the Murray’ vessels are toilet equipped with conventional household type toilets.

Our wooden vessel M.V Maranui does not have a toilet.

  • No, unfortunately our vessels are not wheelchair accessible. Below you can see some imagery for our ‘Spirit of the Coorong’ vessel, with Goolwa Wharf - Bow boarding, steps down into main cabin & shore-excursion beach steps.

  • We rarely cancel cruises due to weather, however if we do so it will usually be the day prior.

  • Our cruising is on the River Murray and in the Coorong which are calm, flat, protected and sheltered inland waters and Sea Sickness is extremely rare.

  • Obviously weather appropriate clothing should be worn for the day of cruising.

Bring a spray jacket/umbrella if rain is forecast. Foot wear is up to the individual but sensible walking shoes if intending to do a guided walk, walking on the dunes barefoot is not recommended due to wooden slatted trails and sharp shells in the middens also the sand gets hot in summer.

The vessel is fully enclosed with optional roof-deck oper-air seating.

  • Covid restrictions have now eased and there are no restrictions or mandates for our tour operation. For cancellations due to covid related issues, our standard policy now applies. See our booking terms & cancellation policy here.
